The 5.8GHz band is indeed available for analog video transmissions, up to 25mW EIRP. Unfortunately, we have been testing several compliant 5.8GHz systems since 2008, and have not yet found any that offers sufficient performance for FPV flight. Range didn't exceed around 300m on those systems, which isn't enough to be able to fly FPV safely with common models. We however don't give up, and will offer a range of products as soon as we find something satisfactory. Meanwhile we do have some supply sources, so if you have an application which requires another band than 2.4GHz and can cope with the current limitations, we will gladly prepare you a custom system.
